Last week we attended the Bat Night hold by the Zoobotánico in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz). There, we performed some “field work” to record calls belonging to the greater noctule bat (Nyctalus lasiopterus), taking advance this rare species has a population into the Zoobotánico. It was a really exciting experience which allowed us not only to see (and hear!) this amazing species but also increase our Iberian bat-call database! Below, you can see one of the palm tree used by individuals of N. lasiopterus to rest during the day. Some of these individuals were probably those recorded by us in the Bay of Cádiz Natural Reserve last year!
